Superstition!!

Superstition!!

A word that had been somehow related with people who
are uneducated, religious and people with blind faith.

Hmm...Interesting observation. But wait "Observation", does something
strikes you. Well allow me to light up a few candles. We observe and we
tend to do something in the similar fashion the next time.

Like, you observe that giving sweets to your boss keeps you in his good books.
You try to do the same the next time. You observe that an apple a day keeps you
healthy, you have it daily and advise the others to do the same. Well, somewhere
or other, observation is deeply related to Superstition. But again
it has its base in something more elusive.

We humans tend to forget that during the process of evolution
we have evolved to dilute a fact that we were born to survive
with constant fear of death or harm. Our well being and the desire
to survive mattered the most. Gradually we developed emotions which
gave us the senses to even care about our loved ones. The more we cared
the more we became vigilant about seen and unforeseen things that can harm us.

And the fear of any unanticipated events is what that has ever since driven
us to be superstitious. The fear of the hidden makes us do things or even
think the unimaginable. And then here comes the unbreakable relation between
superstition and observation. We observe that wearing a locket brings good luck.
We never bring it off in a hope that we will be fortunate enough to survive
everything. We observe that doing a ritual may brought someone peace
and prosperity and we try to repeat the same.

In the past all was based on observation and fear. And even though we have been
smart enough to separate both to an extent, but ask yourself, are we not
superstitious enough in our own way. Everything we do on daily basis
somewhere signifies, that somewhere deep inside, we all are superstitious
in ourselves.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature,
nor do the children of men as a whole experience it.
Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure.
Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.
